Chef-Owner: The Heart of Mina's Catering
My culinary journey began in Ecuador, where I learned the art of cooking at my aunt’s side. Though confined to a wheelchair, her presence in the kitchen was powerful. Her passion, voice, vision, and unwavering standards shaped my earliest understanding of food and guided my young hands. From her, I learned that food is more than nourishment. It is love, resilience, and connection. Those early lessons remain the foundation of everything I create today.
At 25, I left Ecuador and began a global culinary journey that would shape my identity as a chef. I spent nearly five years in Jamaica, where I refined my skills, entertained guests, and mastered international cuisine infused with bold spices and vibrant flavors.
My travels and experiences continued through Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, and Yemen, each culture adding depth, tradition, and soul to my cooking.
Today, as Owner and Executive Chef of Mina’s Catering, I curate elevated dining experiences inspired by my travels across Latin America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Mina’s Catering is not just about food, it’s about storytelling through flavor. Every dish is crafted with intention, authenticity, and the same care I first learned in my aunt’s kitchen.
